Description:

On 8/26/2011, the RCSD observed the accused operating a motor vehicle on RT 103 in North Clarendon. The RCSD attempted to stop the accused for a minor traffic violation; however, prior to pursuing the accused, he pulled off the roadway and exited his vehicle, attempting to enter a home. The accused initially provided RCSD with a false date of birth. Investigation revealed the accused was Michael K. Watkins of Rutland and a correct date of birth was obtained. Watkins had an arrest warrant from Rutland Criminal Court and his license was criminally suspended. The arrest warrant was for Aggravated Cruelty to Animals and was a felony charge with $10,000 bail.

Watkins was taken into custody and transported to the RCSD for processing. He was later lodged at MVRCF for lack of bail. He was cited to court at a later date for the license suspension and false information to law enforcement.
