DESCRIPTION: On the above date and time, Corporal Ricketts observed a vehicle traveling at 77 MPH in a posted 40 MPH zone on Business Route 4 near Dan Kearney's in the Town of West Rutland. As a result, a traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and the operator was identified as Omar R. Riley of West Rutland, VT. Riley was placed under arrest and was transported to the Rutland County Sheriff's Department for processing. Riley was later released on a citation to appear at the Rutland Superior Court - Criminal Division on September 9th 2024 at 1000 hours to answer to the charges of Excessive Speed and Negligent Operation.
